About The Story of Taos Mountain Cabinets and Doors Tom Mastor, owner of Taos Mountain Cabinets and Doors, has been in the construction industry since 1972, when he started working with his father at age seventeen, swinging a hammer on job sites, and soaking up the wisdom and experience that his father had gathered from many years in the business. A southern California native, Tom moved to the small, but growing town of Aspen in 1983, where he soon became a carpenter supervisor and then a project supervisor building fine custom homes and condominiums. This proving ground was where Tom fell in love with the fine wood carpentry side of construction, a passion he carries to this day, and one that is reflected in the magnificent custom homes he now builds. Tom and his family moved to Taos in 2002 to embrace the outdoor lifestyle that the area offers. He is an avid skier and fly fisherman and regularly goes on horseback rides with his wife, Page. Tom’s mantra is “the art is in the detail” and a long list of satisfied clients and an ever-increasing number of requests to build high-end projects are a testament to his success. He is known to be a man of his word, and will furnish prospective clients with an honest estimate that doesn’t cut corners, and then follow that up with a realistic timeline for completion of the project. Tom and the team at Taos Mountain Cabinets and Doors look forward to working with you.
